Started as a replication of the Dunning-Kruger paradigm on short-term memory, today we investigate metacognitive effectiveness – metamemory and decisional awareness – and the individaul and social aspects of performance.
Ever wondered why your projects lag behind schedule? What if it isn’t the matter of skills you may acquire - eg time management, communication, strategic empathy - but cognitive development? What if you could address the issue at its root?
We have confirmed and further explored significant associations between self-confidence, performance, decisional awareness, metamemory and subconscious communication - the faculties characterise and encode success or failure at Phase 0 - thinking itself. Our groundbreaking findings were transformed into actionable insights, enabling the data driven development of metacognitive effectiveness at its core. Even in human adult alphas …and their organisations.
Meatcognitive effectiveness in COVID-19
We have investigated generational and sex differences in basic cognition, metacognitive effectiveness and self-assessment by comparing samples before the outbreak, immediately after the first lockdown and at the end of the COVID-19 crisis (Kasek et al., 2025).
Meatgognition and facial emotional expression
Metacognition and facial emotional expressions both play a major role in human social interactions; results show self-assessment bias in association with specific facial emotional expressions as an individually specific trait expressed at modality-dependent degrees (Kasek et al., 2024).
